For many years we have offered a low cost therapy scheme to provide those on low incomes access to psychotherapy and analysis

“The knowledge of the heart is in no book and is not to be found in the mouth of any teacher, but grows out of you like the green seed from the dark earth” – C.G. Jung, The Red Book: Liber Novus

How it works

Low cost psychotherapy/analysis is usually conducted by a person in the advanced stage of their training with GAP, under close supervision of a senior analyst.

Priority will be given to applicants who are prepared to commit to a minimum of two sessions a week for at least a year, but this should not deter anyone from applying.

People usually seek therapy when they feel in need of support, are suffering emotionally, want to resolve specific issues or to gain personal insight.

The therapist will provide a safe place in which to explore the psyche and gain a greater sense of self-awareness which, in turn, can lead to change and personal development.

How to apply

If you would like to be considered for psychotherapy/analysis through the Low Cost Therapy Scheme please contact us by completing the enquiries form on our Contact page or email us.

The co-ordinator will then arrange to have an informal initial session to determine if the scheme is right for you. There is a one off fee for the initial session of £40.

If you wish to continue with the scheme you will be put in contact with a therapist. The fee will then be discussed between you and the therapist.

Applicants should be aware that the application process can take several weeks and that suitable places may not always be available due to demand.

No person will be excluded on the basis of ability to pay, although GAP has absolute discretion as to whom it accepts on to the scheme.
