SUMMARY:Guild in Conversation Special Event: Chaos Dragon and the Light (screening and Q&A)
DESCRIPTION:The documentary-film tells the story of Marika Henriques. Marika\, now in her 90s\, was forced into hiding as a child during the Nazi occupation of Budapest. A survivor of the Holocaust\, she then fled communist Hungary\, arriving in London as a refugee. The film tells of Marika’s compulsion after a needless operation to draw and paint images corresponding with psychic realities and lived experiences that had been locked away in the unconscious. It heralds the value of an inner life in the face of despair\, loss and depression\, to show creativity as the jewel in the darkness\, the vehicle for transformation of the soul. \nMarika has devoted much of her life to her work as a Jungian therapist. This is the first time the film is being shown in a Jungian context\, and Marika is thrilled for GAP to be hosting for members\, students and trainees\, and the Jungian community at large. \nThis Guild in Conversation will take place 3pm-5pm (UK time) on Saturday\, Nov 14th via Zoom. Places must be reserved by emailing Afua Pierre at: membership@analyticalpsychology.org \nAs attendance for this event is open to other Jungian organisations\, please RSVP as soon as you can to guarantee your space. \nFurther information about the documentary-film Chaos Dragon and the Light can be found here: https://www.chaosdragonandthelight.com/
